In the next FIVE years.

Next Five Years!
When I look back to where I was 5 year ago and what I have done since then there is a lot. Five years ago I was living in another country with a guy, trying to trick myself into staying with him forever. I figure out that wasn’t going to work out and I moved back to San Diego. To now I’m back in school bettering myself. In other words within five years I went through some drastic changes. You can learn a lot about yourself in five years, especially when you are young.
In the next 5 years I would like to travel, finish school, have my own business and maybe have a family. I would love to travel all of Europe, Africa and Asia. I have been to France and Spain in Europe and they were both very beautiful. The history they both have was amazing. The difference in the architecture from France to Spain to USA was all so different but they are all beautiful. I just can’t wait to see the rest of Europe. In Africa, I have been to Morocco which was amazing and I want to see the rest. From what I have heard Morocco is very different from all the rest of the countries in Africa so I’m excited to see the difference and learn about different cultures. I really enjoy learning about different cultures, When I travel I enjoy not only the tourist areas but where the locals hang out also. That is where you learn about their culture. The tourist areas are built to accommodate tourists.
I think traveling is really fun and important. Everywhere I have been has taught me something different.  I think learning about different culture is important because it teaches us we are all human but have different values. Just because we have different values doesn’t mean we are any better than anyone else. For example some cultures think it’s “attractive” to be fat. I personally will do anything to not gain weight.
In order for me to travel I need to find a source of income that will allow that. I haven’t figure that out yet but I plan to start brain storming that soon. If all goes as planned I will graduate from State in a year and after that I would hope to start traveling.

In five years my family would want me to be at least married but well see. I don’t think that is something that can be forced. When it’s meant to be it will happen. For now I am just focusing on myself and accomplishing my goals to make myself happy. I’m excited for the next five years.

  1. Hi Cassandra,

I agree with you completely, traveling is absolutely the best way to grow and learn more about yourself and the world around you. I hold so much value to traveling as well and learning more about how people around the world live and learning what norms are for people in different parts of the world. I agree that financing this can be so hard at times, however I believe that what is meant to be will always find a way. Also, relationships are so important because I feel like a different person you are together with can teach you so much about yourself and overall just teach you a lot about life. Even though it is always hard when things do not go as planned, and I am sorry for any heartbreak you have had to endure (been there!) I think it is also so beneficial to grow, even if we do not see that at first, I always think there is a learning opportunity and happiness and love will be found again because bad times don't last and everything heals.

    Great blog!
    Best wishes!

  2. Hi Cassandra!

Traveling is definitely something everybody should do at least once and really gives people a perspective of how little or big this world really is! I also enjoyed how real this post was. Five years is really a short amount of time with large amount of changes! Great blog post!
